The Northern California Renaissance Faire: Travel back in time to the Renaissance! A time when the world rose up from its deep slumber called the Middle Ages. A time of wonderment and curiosity, of merriment and invention. Travel back in time to this period with the Northern California Renaissance Faire. What can you expect from one of the most anticipated San Benito events? A lot.
The California Renaissance Faire will be on all the weekends between:
“September 17 to October 16, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Casa De Fruta Orchard Resort.”
This year’s festivities won’t be complete without the Celtic Rock Concert Series. Gates open at the jousting arena at 5:45 p.m. and the concerts begin at 6 p.m. Featured performers include The Angry Brians, O’Craven, Wicked Tinkers, Whiskey and Women, and Tempest. The organizers of the Renaissance Faire has also lined up a diverse array of shows for the enjoyment of visitors. These shows include performances from MooNiE, Manly Men in Tights, Broon, Arcana, The Mongers Guild, Naughty Minstrels, Mad Jack and Kate, Bosch the Conjurer, Siamsa La Cheile, No Parchment Needed Improv Troupe, and Finisterra.
Food and drinks
Whether you are looking to sample traditional Renaissance foods and beverages or you simply want to eat modern fare, the Renaissance Faire offers a wide variety of options. You can drop by the Food Court located at the front gate or sample offerings by different vendors in the Enchanted Garden, Trader’s Market and the 21 & Over Stage. There are also vendors who cater to vegans and those who wish to feast on gluten-free fare.
Games and crafts
The California Renaissance Fair will host more than 200 artisans who will sell their wares in different locations around the village. These wares include beads, pottery, knives, sculptures, clothing, fine art, glass art, gourmet food and drinks, hats and accessories, jewelry, leather goods, perfumes, soaps, oils, metal products, toys, furniture and more. There are several activities that you and your family can try including archery, axe throwing, earth darts, javelins, knife throwing, pistol bows, face painting, tarot card reading and visiting animals at the petting zoo. Ticket price for the fair is $28 for adults while children 12 years and below get in for free. Ticket price includes all entertainment. Guests are not required to come in costume but if you wish to immerse yourself in the spirit of the faire, there are costume rentals available for adults and kids.
